DANNY BALEL

Danny is a three year member of ARTiculation and a active participant in the Boston and Worcester poetry scenes. He traveled to San Fransisco in 2005 to compete at the national youth poetry competition representing Worcester, MA. Danny has been published in several literary magazines, including the Albion. Danny is also an actor, performing in such roles as Dennis in This is Our Youth, Shen Te in Good Woman of Setzuan, and Ross in The Goat. However, it is teaching that really excites Danny. He has taught several poetry workshops around Worcester and Boston high schools, as well as Marist and Asuumption colleges. He was the TA for the introductory acting class at Clark University for three years, and is currently enrolled in Clark University's masters program to receive his degree in teaching English. Danny loves Articulation, and hopes to continue performing until people tell him to stop.

TORY BULLOCK

Tory was born in Boston and attended Boston Arts Academy, which is where he first came in contact with the love of his life, Theater. Tory decided that “ART” would be the path that he travels for the rest of his life. One of the many steps that Tory took to begin his journey was coming up with a concept for a theatrical play told through poetry. With the help of Company One, his simple blueprint became a skyscraper of art and passion. Tory hopes that, with this show, youth from all over will feel empowered to follow their passions as well. Following this theme, Tory, along with fellow ARTiculation member Danny Balel, directed an urban adaptation of Romeo and Juliet which dealt with the many issues plaguing young communities today. This is the third season for Tory and ARTiculation, and he hopes it will not be the last.

MICHAEL COGNATA

Michael has been involved in theatre and production since the 3rd grade, and has since majored in the art at Boston Arts Academy high school. Favorite performances include: touring in Soul Element Project, a play written by Michael and his peers, with the intent to break stereotypes of inner city youth, as well as orating excerpts from Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech at Symphony Hall. The piece that he is most proud of is A More Perfect Union by Kirsten Greenidge, a play inspired by a story of injustice towards a teacher at the Fenway high school. Michael and the rest of the cast were given the great honor of performing that protest play in Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe festival. Michael is also a member of Screen Actors Guild and can be seen in a national commercial spot for Subway sandwiches. However, Michael remains a stage actor at heart and is ecstatic to be working with the intelligent and talented cast of ARTiculation.
