BOSTON:

is the next project of Company One's CERTA (Campaign to Eliminate
Racism Through the Arts) initiative, and will be performed
at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street, Boston,
from November 7 - 23, 2002. Performances will run Thursday
through Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3pm. Tickets cost $20,
$15 for students and seniors, and may be purchased in advance
by calling the BCA box office at 617.426.2787 (617.426.ARTS).
A post-show discussion led by scholars, community leaders
and Twilight artists will follow every performance and is
free to the public. As part of its mission to cultivate non-traditional
theatre audiences, Company One is also offering Pay-What-You-Can-Day
on Sunday, November 10, as well as several ASL interpreted
performances.
On
the tenth anniversary of the Los Angeles riots, Company One
is proud to present a multi-racial collaborative production
of Anna Deavere Smith's groundbreaking experiment in "documentary-theatre,"
Twilight Los Angeles, 1992. Called "dazzling" by
Time Magazine, Twilight passionately gives voice to the outrage,
sorrow, and confusion that erupted into violence in L.A. following
the announcement of the Rodney King verdict. In the aftermath,
Smith traveled from South-Central L.A. to Beverly Hills gathering
in-depth interviews and heartfelt testimonies. Join Company
One's diverse ensemble as it brings new depth to the devastating
details that Smith captured while digging below the headlines
to find the "humanness" inside this national crisis.
