"Its aggressive high-octane style is like a shot of caffeine straight in the veins" - Guardian
Company One presents the Boston premiere of the off-Broadway and Edinburgh Festival hit, Jesus Hopped the A Train.
The New York Times labeled Stephen Adly Guirgis “AMERICA’S
BEST YOUNG PLAYWRIGHT,” and exclaimed “[JESUS] HAS BEEN
WRITTEN IN FLAME.” Two prisoners incarcerated on Riker’s
Island, - one a first time offender and one a psychopathic
serial killer turned born-again Christian - search for
morality and grace within the prison gates. Freedom is
juxtaposed with the responsibility of spiritual rebirth in
this cage-rattling comic drama about faith and justice. |
