Take
six of America's hottest playwrights, Introduce them to six
of Shakespeare's immortal sonnets… Inspiration is inevitable.
"The fruit of an extraordinary project, Love's Fire reimagines
six of Shakespeare's immortal love sonnets as one act plays
by six of the best playwrights in America. These short gems,
paired with the sonnets that inspired them, are burlesque
and sublime. Their range stretches creative license to new
heights."
Providing the fuel needed to flame through six stories about
the diversity of love today, Company One's menu includes DJ
Symmetry, on-stage at all times mixing and scratching her
way through this evening of lust and pain, weaving these six
short plays together with sweet love songs and hard beats.
To host this night of passion and decadence, our favorite
Bostonians will be giving their very own renditions of the
seven different Shakespearean sonnets that originally inspired
Love's Fire. Via video projection Bean Town locals will profess
the Bard's immortal words of love. These plays cut to the
heart and scream true. Sharp, honest, hilarious; Love's Fire
is beautifully constructed, necessarily relevant and completely
inspired.
