A NEW SEASON...

The crisp air of autumn has arrived, we are steeped in an exciting election season and Company One has officially begun its TENTH season!  This has been a remarkable ten years and the C1 family will be celebrating this milestone all season long and we want you to come along for the ride!

Season 10 promises to be our most exciting yet and we don’t want you to miss a moment of it.  CLICK HERE to get your Company Card now to make sure you are front and center for all the action.

VOYEURS DE VENUS

Kick starting season 10 is VOYEURS DE VENUS by Lydia R. Diamond and directed by Summer L. Williams, the very same folks who brought you last fall's critically- acclaimed, sold-out run of Toni Morrison's THE BLUEST EYE.  From Huntington Playwriting fellow Diamond, this dazzling Boston premiere follows Sara, an African-American scholar of pop culture trying to write a book about Saartjie Baartman, better known as the 19th-century sideshow sensation The Hottentot Venus. As the two women's worlds collide, Sara faces a struggle: can she reveal the truth about Saartjie and still write a bestseller? While Sara navigates a treacherous course involving her white husband and her black lover - who is also her publisher - she is forced to confront her own racial identity. Sexy, bold and dangerous, VOYEURS DE VENUS is sure to be one of the season's most piercing dramas.

In celebration of opening day, the Boston Center for the Arts, where the C1 family has called home for the past ten years, is throwing us one of many birthday parties! Join us for pre-show reception hosted by the Boston Center for the Arts on opening night of
