COMPANY ONE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, JUNE2009

GREETINGS!

Summer fun is swiftly approaching and there is no better time to get your tickets to see what promises to be this summer?s most enchanting show, after the quake.

COMING SOON...

Writer Haruki Murakami, author of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and Kafka on the Shore, is one of the most acclaimed writers of our time, winning a Yomiuri Award, Japan?s equivalent of the Pulitzer. Frank Galati, Tony Award?winning director and adaptor has fashioned an enchanting and deeply moving play out of two of Murakami?s short stories. AFTER THE QUAKE is a gentle tale of life in the wake of earth-shaking disaster. A timid man woos an old flame, enchanting her anxious daughter with whimsical bedtime stories of a six foot frog?s fight to save Tokyo.

This month we?d like to introduce you to two more cast members, Giselle Ty and Martin Lee.

Giselle Ty (Sayoko) will be making her first appearance with Company One in AFTER THE QUAKE. In the Boston area, she has acted in productions with the Actors' Shakespeare Project, Hyperion Shakespeare Company, Gurnet Theatre Project, and the Mill 6 Collaborative. She has also directed CANTALOUPE GIRLFRIEND and STEP TWO for Company One's SLAMBostons. Assistant directing credits include: ENDGAME at the American Repertory Theatre, TRIGGER at the A.R.T./M.X.A.T. Institute for Advanced Theatre Training, and THE HYACINTH MACAW at Harvard University. She is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Music.

Martin Lee (Katagiri) has appeared in film, television, theater, and commercials. He recently completed a principal role on the "House Rules" television pilot from ABC Studios. His stage credits include Sung Rno's East Coast premiere of CLEVELAND RAINING and STRUCK from the SLAMBoston play festival.
