COMPANY ONE'S MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, APRIL 2011

OPENING FRIDAY...

A NEW ENGLAND PREMIERE
THE BOOK OF GRACE
Written by Suzan-Lori Parks
Directed by Boston Legend David Wheeler

Wondering why Director David Wheeler is a Boston Legend?
David Wheeler has been directing daring theatre for over 50 years! In the early 1960's, he founded the Theater Company of Boston, one of only two resident theatre companies in Boston at the time. He mounted the work of Harold Pinter, Samuel Beckett and Ed Bullins, just to name a few. David has worked with, launched the careers of and introduced the world to a group of emerging artists that have definied both stage and screen. Perhaps you've heard of Al Pacino, Stockard Channing, Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Robert Duvall, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck! David has a knack for recognizing talent and we are so pleased to collaborate with him on this dynamic New England premiere by one of America's most celebrated playwrights!

Fresh insights, startling images, fiery speeches, and moments of genuine passion remind you that Parks is the real deal.-Vogue

Starring:
Steven Barkhimer, Frances Idlebrook and Jesse Tolbert

Fiercely intimate and explosive, THE BOOK OF GRACE weaves together the stories of three people bound by love and longing, passion and ambition. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks (TOPDOG/UNDERDOG) draws a portrait of a family shattered by rage, power, and betrayal when a young man returns home to South Texas to confront his estranged father.

Opens Friday
April 15- May 7
Boston Center for the Arts, Plaza Theatre
